Here are some valuable tips to make your first time smoking weed a wonderful experience.
1. Clear Your Schedule
For your first time getting high, do not schedule any meetings, commitments, or obligations. It is best to free up your schedule beforehand so you can smoke and relax, guilt-free.
The worst thing when you’re high is having to worry about going somewhere afterwards or even worse – seeing someone you don’t want to see.
2. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!
Drinking water is a necessity and it is especially more important to have when you are smoking weed for the first time. So, fill that sports bottle and have it close by!
Staying hydrated while you’re smoking can help you avoid a dehydrated brain fog the following day. It can help ease any coughing fits, especially if your lungs aren’t used to the smoke.
3. Have Snacks on Hand
It is a well-known fact that smoking weed can cause a major surge of the “munchies.” Since you don’t know what you’ll be craving yet, stock up on some salty and sweet treat options for when the mood strikes!
Alternately, you could always take a nice stroll to your local store when the munchies hit. Just be warned— grocery shopping while high may result in a ton of impulse buys! We recommend you avoid Costco, lest you end up getting a 1-kilogram tub of Sour Keys or something like that!
4. Be Comfortable & Safe
Especially when you’re smoking for the first time, it’s a good idea to surround yourself with people you feel comfortable around. If you’re smoking alone, be in a comfortable environment.
Make sure you feel safe – and just in case you ever feel uncomfortable or unwell, make sure to have a plan in place to get home safely.
5. Take it Slow & Get to Know Your Limits
The most important thing to remember when smoking weed for the first time is to take it slow. As time goes on, the more you smoke weed, the more you will get to understand your limits and your sweet spot!
Smoking weed for the first time is NOT when you should hit the ground running! Take it slow. You can slowly experiment with various strains, phenotype and amounts until you find what works for you.
